Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 34, have shown they are modernisers who are unafraid to do things their way. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s different approach to royal life may upset traditionalists, others feel they are a breath of fresh air. The British Royal Family is built on old customs which Meghan and Harry have little time for, one royal commentator has claimed.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have had a busy few months – from welcoming their son Archie Harrison to the world to building up their Sussex Royal brand.
The couple recently split from Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge’s Royal Foundation to focus on their own philanthropic mission.
Meghan made her mark on the fashion world when she guest-edited September’s issue of British Vogue and returned from maternity leave yesterday to launch her own women’s clothing collection for charity.

The Sussex clan will jet off to Africa for a 10-day royal tour later this month where baby Archie is expected to make his first public appearance out with his parents.
However, despite their best intentions, Meghan and Harry have also been dealt flack for some of their behaviour.
While Meghan and Harry have demanded a level of privacy, they also have a string of celebrity pals.
Meghan’s decision to fly to New York to watch friend Serena Williams play in the US Open final was deemed a bad move by critics after she turned down the Queen’s invitation to Balmoral.

A royal commentator has claimed Meghan and Harry’s jetsetter lifestyle is a sign they are unhappy with the status quo.
Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “They have shown every indication that they are unhappy with conventional royal roles, Meghan’s declining a visit to Balmoral to stay with the Queen in favour of seeing Serena Williams playing tennis is but one pointer to what was already clear.”
The high profile nature of their royal roles means Meghan and Harry’s every move is closely scrutinised and there have been a string of blunders.
Prince Harry is an active climate change campaigner but he and Meghan faced fierce criticism after they took a string of private jets this summer.
There was also public outrage after it was revealed the couple had spent £2.4 million of public money on renovating Frogmore Cottage.

There are rumours Meghan and Harry could eventually move away from Britain altogether.
MR Fitzwilliams claimed if the Sussexes did up sticks then they would face new obstacles.
He said: “If they did move abroad for large periods of time they face high-security bills and in time the problem of Archie’s schooling as well as the challenge of balancing activities abroad with those at home.
“Also, it will be asked, why should the British taxpayer who pays for the renovation of their home, fund this?
“They are currently living rather dangerously after the fierceness of the attacks on them over the charge of hypocrisy over the use of private jets, expect their activities to continue to surprise us, at home and abroad.”
Mr Fitzwilliams highlighted the dynamic work Meghan and Harry are doing with Sussex Royal: “Meghan’s articulate and committed speech without notes given at the launch of her clothing line for Smart Works was a yet another example of how dynamic a duo she and Harry are going to be in supporting causes they believe in.”
